Horoscope Inspired Window (Pisces)

For this project, my partner and I were assigned Pisces as our horoscope window. Our idea for this window is to have a mermaids tail in the center to represent the whole image of “Pisces”. We decided to have a navy blue background with waves and an ocean floor to create the whole setting of the window. We added waves to the floor to make it all pop out. On the bottom left corner, we decided to put a scuba diving helmet, a rock and moss to make the display represent more of an ocean setting. Furthermore, on the back of the display we added fishes and words to present the whole idea of our horoscope. The color palette for this display is a bunch of blues, greens and a bit of purple. For our actual window, we’re planning to create a shadow box and create the mermaids tail as well as include all of the things we have in our models. We want to catch the audience attention and represent our horoscope Pisces closely as possible.

Favorite Window Display

This is my favorite window display because of the color scheme as well as how how everything is well incorporated in this display. I like how everything is well organized as well as the mannequins are placed. The detailed are well developed throughout the whole display which brings it all together and makes it glamourous. The color palette is a bunch of reds, black and whites mainly.

Favorite Window Display

This is my favorite window display of the week because I really thought that it was eye catching and told a story within three quick seconds. This is a really interesting window because its not something you see everyday. I like how the artist showed every aspect of the story and made it look so real and awesome. This display looks like it has to do with like a festival theme or a jungle. I think the whole idea of this window is great, the animals and the color palette match up with the whole theme of the window.

Angelina Jolie is an American actress, filmmaker, and humanitarian. She has received an Academy Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and three Golden Globe Awards, and has been cited as Hollywood’s highest-paid actress. Her film career begun in the year of 1993. Angelina has played in several different movies such as; Wanted, Salt, Gia, Unbroken, By the Sea and many more. Fashion:  In the 80’s we see a lot of browns, tans and oranges. Blocky shapes were everywhere and dressing like a tennis player was the cool thing to do. Velvet was hot and for both men and women, the waistline was a little high. The early 1980s fashion was very similar to the late 1970s. In 1983 there was a slight 1950s-style throwback, especially in women’s dresses.

Bright colored accessories like sunglasses, bangles and hoop earrings were a necessity. Teased hair, loud makeup and neon were an important part of this style. Also, women in the 1980s couldn’t have fun. It was an exceptionally flexible time when a woman could wear skin-tight cotton stirrup pants with leggings and a giant turtleneck sweater one day .

Cars:  (BMW 5 Series, Honda Civic CRX and Ferrari F40)

Color Stories: During the 1980s there was a more of a Southwest decor. Native American use of orange-brown and turquoise, a color combination that is naturally compatible with a range of woods and earthenware.

  • Holly Johnson was most famous in the 80s for being the frontman of controversial pop band.
  • Janet Ellis is the mother of singer Sophie Ellis Bextor and was a presenter on the BBC childrens show “Blue Peter”.
  • Lou Ferrigno (Actor): the ex-body builder and actor played the role as the shirt-ripping, green monster The Incredible Hulk in the TV series and TV movies during the late 70s and early 80s.

Elf Window Display

For this project, me and my group were assigned to do the movie “Elf” and incorporate important details of the movie. We decided to do three different boxes to represent three different stories of the movie. On the top left corner, we did a christmas tree along with the hat, to give off a detail to represent Elf. We also added some christmas lights to spice it up a bit. Moving on down to the right side of the display, we have a city background along with the Elf’s feet. The last box, we just added a white background with snowflakes to represent the holiday and the winter time. The most challenging thing I found while working on this project was putting the boxes together, making everything work well and of course the hot glue gun. The easiest thing was putting on the lights and making the christmas tree.
